5. Advice & conclusions
I think my perspective now is different. At the beginning I really didn’t know the reason for my pain. This made me feel really insecure, because you don’t know what is going to happen in the future. Is it going to go away? What can I do to make it go away? Before the research I didn’t know which options were out there. But now I know that if one thing doesn’t work, there are loads more things to try. To know this helped a lot.
For myself, I also need to keep fit and sport at least twice a week, and keep remembering not to push my arm down when I bow. These two things are essential. I also need to eat appropriately and sleep well, the basic things. Otherwise my muscles get tired more easily. I need to take care of myself when I am not playing, like when I am using the computer. I think the stupid computer is one of the reasons that the problems with my right arm started!
I think I am able to do more myself than I used to be able to. And I know how to work on certain things, what to watch out for. But I think there is a lot more to learn about the whole body, about how it works. I think you learn a lot by experimenting. We all learned a lot this year by looking at each other.
